PASTOR: Platform for Analysis of Services on TOR
The PASTOR project, funded by the Business Competitiveness Institute of the Junta de Castilla y León through the European Union’s FEDER funds, aims to develop a platform for analyzing resources indexed on the surface web and deep web oriented to collect .onion addresses where onion services are provided. Unless the user indicates otherwise, the discovery mechanism is always running, recording both the onion services found and the advertising resources where they have been found. Thus, in PASTOR an advertiser is a resource (web page, forum, community, social network, document, etc.) where at least one .onion address appears. The main objectives of the PASTOR project are as follows:
- Obtaining new onion services in Tor not previously identified and that are not found in public sources.
- Checking the status (active or inactive) of the discovered onion services at the time of the query.
- Designing a software prototype that continuously obtains new onion services in Tor, i.e., it will be based on non-temporal techniques that ensure that the software will not have to be adapted in the short or medium term to continue obtaining new onion services.
- Developing and testing a software prototype that can be easily integrated with solutions that allow for the continuous monitoring of these new services (.onion).
